Roger Boatner

Roger is a native of Meridian, Mississippi, and received degrees from Mississippi State University (Bachelor of Professional Accounting) and the University of Alabama (Masters of Tax Accounting). A CPA licensed in Alabama and Florida, Roger began working for KPMG, the world’s largest public accounting firm, in their Tampa, Florida Office. After moving to Alabama, Roger joined and helped form Boatner & Pugh, LLC in Gadsden, Alabama. Roger specializes in Income Tax Planning and Income Tax Savings, and he works in various areas, including medical practices, manufacturing, and construction. Roger is a member of the AICPA, the ASCPA, and the NE Alabama Chapter of Alabama Certified Public Accountants. He currently serves on the boards for the Alabama Federal Tax Clinic (former president), the Gadsden Country Club (treasurer), the Gadsden Youth Football Association (treasurer), the 5W Club (treasurer), Smart Bank Advisory, and the Etowah County Mega Sports Complex. Past involvement includes serving on the boards of BBVA Compass Bank, Gadsden City School System Foundation (former chairman), Gadsden Center for Cultural Arts, The Gadsden Kiwanis Club (former president), Break Away Ministries, Fellowship of Christian Athletes (past Chairman), Episcopal Day School, and the United Way of Etowah County. Roger also has served his church as a Deacon, Finance Chairman, Sunday School Teacher, TV Director, and youth Basketball Coach. He also has served the community in youth sports, including baseball, football, basketball, girls’ softball, and tennis.

Roger has been married to his wife Beth (Elizabeth Patterson Boatner) for over 30+ years and resides in Rainbow City, Alabama. They have two children – Nolan and Sydney, who live and work in Birmingham, AL.
